Test Technician Location:
Richardson, TX Pay Rate:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
Job Type:
Contract-to-Hire Position Overview Our client is seeking a hands-on Test Technician to support manufacturing and product quality operations in a fast-paced production environment. This position is responsible for conducting testing activities, supporting quality inspections, identifying non-conforming materials, and ensuring products meet established manufacturing and quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, testing, troubleshooting, and quality processes. Responsibilities Provide advanced technical support for printed server racks, electronic subassemblies, and manufacturing test equipment. Set up and execute complex product tests, engineering experiments, and validation activities. Assist with the design, layout, assembly, and debugging of test fixtures, test cables, and interface hardware. Configure, calibrate, and verify test systems and auxiliary equipment to ensure accurate performance. Maintain and update test software and test environments to support production requirements. Analyze schematics, technical drawings, and circuit descriptions to troubleshoot failures and resolve technical issues. Support manufacturing teams with root cause analysis and corrective actions for product and process issues. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to improve test processes and manufacturing efficiency. Document troubleshooting activities, maintenance procedures, and test results. Required Qualifications Associate degree, technical diploma, military electronics training, or equivalent hands-on experience. Strong knowledge of electrical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and digital electronic systems. Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic assemblies and manufacturing equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications. Experience working with electronic test equipment such as: Multimeters Oscilloscopes Power supplies Signal generators Automated test systems Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technical software tools. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment. Preferred Experience with quality management systems such as EtQ , Spectrum Pro , or similar platforms. Experience conducting product testing, inspections, and validation activities. Familiarity with First Article Assessments and quality documentation processes. Experience supporting manufacturing audits and corrective action initiatives. Background in electronics, telecommunications, aerospace, automotive, or other high-volume manufacturing environments. Skills & Competencies Ability to exercise sound judgment when providing quality guidance. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Understanding of manufacturing and quality standards. Ability to effectively communicate with internal customers and cross-functional teams. Knowledge of shop floor control systems and quality documentation processes. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Physical Requirements Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, machinery, temperature variations, and other industrial conditions. Extended periods of visual concentration on detailed documentation, testing equipment, and product assemblies. Frequent standing, walking, repetitive motions, and material handling. Ability to lift and move materials weighing 20+ pounds as needed. Why Join Us?
