$198/day worked ($124 lodging + $74 meals) Job Description We are seeking experienced Stationary Battery Testing & Maintenance Technicians to perform inspection, testing, maintenance, and service work on critical backup power systems. This position will support systems such as UPS equipment, data center battery arrays, and utility substations to ensure reliable emergency power and proper system performance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with stationary battery systems and a strong understanding of applicable IEEE standards and testing procedures. Key Responsibilities Inspect, test, maintain, and service stationary battery systems Support critical backup power systems, including UPS and data center battery arrays Perform battery testing and maintenance in accordance with applicable standards and procedures Conduct acceptance testing at new installations Perform periodic performance testing, including constant-current discharge testing Conduct service testing to verify system performance under specific operational load requirements Perform modified performance testing on flooded battery systems Identify potential battery or system issues and communicate findings Document testing results, maintenance activities, and equipment conditions Follow all applicable safety procedures and manufacturer requirements IEEE Standards & Technical Experience Candidates should be able to indicate their experience and familiarity with the following standards and procedures:
IEEE 450
Vented Lead-Acid (VLA/Flooded) battery maintenance, inspections, and capacity testing
IEEE 1188
Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA/Sealed) battery maintenance, ohmic testing, and replacement
IEEE 1106
Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd) stationary battery testing and maintenance
IEEE 2962
Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) installation, monitoring, and safety protocols Required Experience Experience testing and maintaining stationary battery systems Familiarity with battery testing procedures and electrical backup power systems Experience performing acceptance, performance, service, and/or modified performance testing Ability to work safely around electrical equipment and battery systems Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results Ability to work independently and as part of a field service team PPE & Tools Employees are required to provide basic PPE and tools appropriate for the work. Physical Requirements This position requires regular physical activity, including: Standing for extended periods Bending and twisting Kneeling and working in various positions Climbing as required Working around and accessing battery and electrical equipment Ability to safely perform hands-on maintenance and testing activities Additional Information No specific state license or certification required No drug screen required No background check required Per diem of $198 is provided for each day worked , consisting of $124 lodging and $74 meals Inside work environment Contract assignment expected to last 3-6 months
