Traffic Analysis Engineer

North Little Rock, Arkansas

Garver is seeking a highly-motivated Traffic Analysis Engineerinour North Little Rock , ARofficeto add to our growing traffic and transportation planning team. The ideal candidate would have 5-10years of related experience, a sharp technical background, and strong passion for the profession. The position will offer the candidate an opportunity to play a key role in analyzing and designing exciting projects for our DOT and municipal clients across our client footprint. Applicants must have excellent communication skills with a commitment to becoming a key member of this highly productive design team. This position will be supervised by a Senior Project Manager and offers outstanding growth opportunity and career advancement to the right individual. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following: Performing traffic and safety studies

Performing traffic simulation and level of service analysis

Developing access management plans and lane configurations for new or modified alignments

Developing traffic signal timing plans

Preparing summary documentation and reports

Coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and communicating concepts to clients Additional duties include: Assisting with project management to identify project scopes, fees, and monitoring project progress.

Maintaining a client-focused, service attitude by tracking budgets, and keeping projects on schedule.

Preparing project proposals and giving interviews for project pursuits

Performing direct client marketing and developing relationships with existing clients within our service area

Mentoring less experienced staff

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree for an ABET accredited engineering program

4 - 8 years of experience with traffic specific projects

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) or have ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

Working knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual & Trip Generation Manual is required

Working knowledge in capacity analysis, traffic projections, and safety analysis (including HSM) is required

Working knowledge of traffic simulation programs (VISSIM, CORSIM, etc.), Synchro, and HCS is required

Experience in analyzing intersections, interchanges, and roundabouts

Proficient in

Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in civil engineering
  • Experience in Transportation planning and travel demand modeling (TransCAD)
  • Experience using ArcGIS for data analysis including review of large sets of crash data to spatial map and analyze for trends and clusters.
  • Experience with pedestrian and bicycle improvement projects and studies
  • Experience in marketing and managing local government projects
  • Experience working with MODOT and municipalities in Missouri
  • Certification as a PTOEand/or RSP Grow With Us
