- CDM Smith is a multi-discipline engineering and architectural firm.
- Oversee and work with internal, client, and external consultant staff to review and/or design, to develop final construction contract documents.
- Develop building design criteria directly with clients. Lead preparation of presentation materials and make presentations.
- Lead development and coordination of electrical systems design and construction contract documents with multi-discipline engineering staff.
- Lead and mentor project engineers and junior staff on projects.
- Determination of construction materials, technologies and methodologies for detailing.
- Preparation and editing of technical specifications.
- Confirm compliance with standards and requirements/regulations, including coordination with IDOT and agencies having jurisdiction.
- Serve as Quality Control and independent reviewer for other consultants work.
- Assist in development of project budgets and schedules, both internal and external. Assist in monitoring projects through letting/close out.
- Support sales, meet with clients, and serve as a Project Technical Lead for Electrical/ ITS driven projects. Skills & Abilities
- Expert technical knowledge and design application knowledge.
- Expert knowledge of technologies and methodologies in the use of construction materials.
- Expert knowledge of CAD Systems/software, preferably MicroStation.
- Expert knowledge of
IDOT , CDOT , IL
Tollway standards and specifications.- Expert knowledge with Bluebeam Revue.
- Expert knowledge of basic business office software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking, technical writing ability, and verbal communication skills.
- Subject matter expertise in planning, design, and construction oversight of transportation systems including, traffic signals, lighting, and ITS .
- Experience signing and sealing project documents.
- Strong task management skills and team-minded interpersonal skills are desired.
- Prior experience with systems engineering is desired. However, a candidate with a strong understanding of ITS systems integration will be given equal consideration.
- Master's degree in civil engineering, or related field. \#LI-MS1 \#LI
- HYBRID Amount of Travel Required 20%
- 40% Driving Requirements An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
