Job Description:
- Preferred locations for this position include; Carbondale, IL., Chicago, IL., Lisle, IL., Springfield IL. or St. Louis, MO. This position will require travel to Collinsville, IL approximately 1x per week.
- CDM Smith is a multi-discipline engineering and architectural firm.
Skills & Abilities:
Expert technical knowledge and design application knowledge. Expert knowledge of technologies and methodologies in the use of construction materials. Expert knowledge of CAD Systems/software, preferably MicroStation. Expert knowledge ofIDOT, CDOT, IL
Tollway standards and specifications. Expert knowledge with Bluebeam Revue. Expert knowledge of basic business office software (Word, Excel, etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong critical thinking, technical writing ability, and verbal communication skills.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 10 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.Preferred Qualifications:
Subject matter expertise in planning, design, and construction oversight of transportation systems including, traffic signals, lighting, and ITS. Experience signing and sealing project documents. Strong task management skills and team-minded interpersonal skills are desired. Prior experience with systems engineering is desired. However, a candidate with a strong understanding of ITS systems integration will be given equal consideration. Master's degree in civil engineering, or related field. #LI-MS1 #LI-HYBRID
