Traffic Engineer PE | Dulles/ Baltimore | 5-15 YOE LVI Associates - 4.4 Baltimore, MD Job Details $110,000 - $145,000 a year 15 hours ago Qualifications Civil engineering Bachelor's degree Full Job Description A well-established, award-winning multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm is seeking a Traffic Engineer to support and help grow its transportation practice in the Mid-Atlantic region. This organization provides transportation, infrastructure, civil engineering, construction management, and program management services to a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with regional leadership while playing a key role in expanding a growing traffic engineering team serving clients throughout Maryland and Virginia. Projects may include traffic planning and analysis, ITS initiatives, traffic signal and lighting design, operational studies, safety evaluations, and transportation planning efforts. Key Responsibilities Lead and support traffic engineering projects from planning through design and implementation. Perform traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, operational evaluations, traffic simulation, and conceptual design. Prepare technical reports, memorandums, plan sets, specifications, estimates, and presentations. Serve as a Project Manager, Technical Lead, Quality Reviewer, or Subject Matter Expert on transportation projects. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff. Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, and internal multidisciplinary teams. Support proposal development and business development efforts to help grow the transportation practice. Deliver projects on schedule and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Approximately 5-8+ years of experience in traffic engineering or transportation consulting. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure shortly after hire. Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification preferred. Experience with transportation projects throughout Maryland and/or Virginia. Familiarity with traffic operational analysis, traffic forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation, signal warrants, signal design, and pedestrian crossing analysis. Experience supporting proposal preparation and client development activities. Proficiency with software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Synchro, VISSIM, or similar traffic engineering tools. Strong technical, project management, and client-facing skills.
Compensation Salary Range:
