Job Description

Our client is a growing civil engineering firm seeking an experienced Roadway Design Engineer to join their team in Ohio. This role offers the opportunity to lead transportation design work from concept through construction-ready plans on a variety of roadway projects. The ideal candidate brings strong roadway design expertise and a background working with state DOT standards. Job Responsibilities - Collect and analyze project data to support transportation engineering studies and reports. Evaluate existing site conditions and design alternatives for engineering analysis. Develop horizontal and vertical roadway alignments. Perform cross-section and superelevation design for roadway projects. Design roadside barrier systems and ADA-compliant curb ramps. Build and maintain roadway corridor models. Prepare maintenance of traffic (MOT) and traffic control plans. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. Minimum of 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience. Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire. Prior experience with ODOT required; Solid understanding of civil engineering design principles. Experience designing roadway transportation projects, including cost estimating and preparation of construction bid documents. Working knowledge of transportation design standards. Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) a plus. Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, GIS platforms, SignCAD, or AutoTurn a plus.
