JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct traffic engineering analysis under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic traffic engineering and transportation planning problems. Conduct fieldwork such as traffic counts and site visits. Prepare technical reports, presentations, maps, websites, or other documentation to support findings and decision-making. Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule. Work collaboratively with other engineers to solve transportation challenges. QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Engineer-in-Training certification (or ability to obtain). Relevant co-op/internship experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Experience with traffic engineering or transportation planning projects for WisDOT, municipalities, and/or other transportation agencies. Experience with software such as ArcGIS , AutoCAD Civil3D , Synchro , HCS , VISSIM , IHSDM or similar tools. Familiarity with the HCM, HSM, WisDOT FDM, and/or WisTransPortal system. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Possess excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
