THE POSITION
The Regional Traffic Mgmt Center Manager position with the Department of Transportation gives you the chance to lead important work that keeps travelers moving safely through Western Pennsylvania. This role allows you to use your experience to guide teams, manage advanced traffic systems, and improve everyday travel. You will help shape regional traffic operations while working with partners across the District. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position manages the daily operation, oversight, and advancement of regional traffic systems that support safe and efficient travel across Engineering District 11. As a Regional Traffic Mgmt Center Manager, you will perform the following duties:
System Management:
Oversee the operation and enhancement of ITS devices and traffic control systems
Contract Oversight:
Manage contractors involved in service patrol, security, and ITS operations
Operational Coordination:
Facilitate communication with partners, emergency services, and other units
Plan Development:
Contribute to District ITS plans and support regional planning efforts
Incident Support:
Participate in incident command activities to ensure effective response
Staff Leadership:
Direct scheduling, training and supervision of RTMC personnel Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS).
Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bridgeville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions. This position is not subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding. You must be eligible for selection in accordance with merit system employment regulations.
