We have an exciting opportunity available for an entry level Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation team at our Corporate Headquarters office in downtown Milwaukee located in The Avenue. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience supporting highway, roadway, and local street design projects that improve mobility and strengthen communities.
Roadway Engineer responsibilities include:
Support project engineering efforts on a variety of transportation, highway and local street design projects. Assist with design documentation, technical reports, quantity calculations, and plan preparation for review and quality control. Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to deliver work that meets project budgets, schedules, and client expectations. Review and check portions of project work under the guidance of experienced engineering staff. Participate in professional development opportunities, including involvement in engineering and transportation-related professional organizations. We are considering candidates for our Roadway Engineer position who possess the following minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Course work or Internship/Co-op experience related to transportation engineering, highway design, roadway design, or local street design. Familiarity with WisDOT design standards is a plus. EIT certification preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with civil transportation design software such as Civil 3D or OpenRoads Designer is highly preferred.
