Hydraulics Engineer (Mid-Level to Senior/Team Lead) Kisinger Campo & Associates (KCA) is seeking a Hydraulics Engineer to join our growing team in Columbia, North Myrtle Beach, or North Charleston, South Carolina. We are open to considering both mid-level and senior-level candidates, with responsibilities and leadership opportunities tailored to experience and qualifications. In this role, you will support the planning, analysis, design, and delivery of drainage and stormwater solutions for transportation infrastructure projects throughout South Carolina. Depending on experience level, responsibilities may range from performing technical hydraulic and hydrologic analyses to leading complex projects, mentoring staff, and providing technical oversight.

Responsibilities:

Prepare drainage studies, hydraulic calculations, stormwater management analyses, and supporting technical documentation Develop culvert, bridge hydraulics, closed drainage system, and floodplain evaluation designs Prepare erosion and sediment control plans and support permitting and environmental compliance efforts Apply SCDOT standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to develop effective drainage solutions Coordinate with roadway, structures, environmental, and survey teams throughout project development Participate in technical reviews and quality control efforts Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders as needed Senior-level candidates may also: Lead drainage and stormwater design efforts on complex transportation projects Provide technical guidance and quality review for project deliverables Mentor junior engineers and support staff development Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and business development activities Serve as a technical resource for hydraulic engineering challenges across multiple projects

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required 4 to 12 years of hydraulic and hydrologic engineering experience Experience working with SCDOT is required South Carolina PE License required for senior candidates; ability to obtain within six months required for mid-level candidates Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, drainage design, and stormwater management principles Experience with SCDOT design standards, drainage criteria, and project development processes Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer (ORD), drainage modeling software, and related design tools preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Experience mentoring junior staff and coordinating technical tasks is a plus Preferred Experience by
