- Perform engineering duties as a Project Engineer, including analysis and design for complex transportation projects, grading, and plan development
- Contribute to the design and production of transportation projects such as highway widenings/reconstructions, intersection improvements, roundabouts, and shared-use/bike-pedestrian facilities
- Help develop and deliver client-facing documents, including construction plans, while maintaining adnce to project budgets and schedules
- VHB standards and industry best practices to ensure quality control of work products
- Support marketing efforts through technical input for proposals and presentation materials
- Contribute to the coordination of multi-disciplinary design teams, including collaboration with subconsultants
- Partner with technical specialists to resolve design challenges, coordination issues, and conflicting criteria
- Provide support during the bidding phase, including preparation of addenda, amendments, and bid reviews/tabulations
- Participate in construction phase services, including site visits, responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing record drawings
- Mentor and support the professional growth of entry-level Transportation staff Skills/Abilities
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and willingness to serve in a variety of roles within a design team
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- AutoCAD with Civil 3D Corridor experience and/or MicroStation with Geopak, Open Roads experience or Open Roads Designer is strongly preferred. Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering required, MS a plus
- 3-5+ years of professional transportation engineering experience required
- EIT required, PE certification preferred
