Duties include highway design, development of traffic management plans, cost estimating, right-of-way and construction plans. • Perform engineering duties as a Project Engineer, including analysis and design for complex transportation projects, grading, and plan development
• Contribute to the design and production of transportation projects such as highway widenings/reconstructions, intersection improvements, roundabouts, and shared-use/bike-pedestrian facilities
• Help develop and deliver client-facing documents, including construction plans, while maintaining adnce to project budgets and schedules
• VHB standards and industry best practices to ensure quality control of work products
• Support marketing efforts through technical input for proposals and presentation materials
• Contribute to the coordination of multi-disciplinary design teams, including collaboration with subconsultants
• Partner with technical specialists to resolve design challenges, coordination issues, and conflicting criteria
• Provide support during the bidding phase, including preparation of addenda, amendments, and bid reviews/tabulations
• Participate in construction phase services, including site visits, responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing record drawings
• Mentor and support the professional growth of entry-level Transportation staff Skills/Abilities
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and willingness to serve in a variety of roles within a design team
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• AutoCAD with Civil 3D Corridor experience and/or MicroStation with Geopak, Open Roads experience or Open Roads Designer is strongly preferred. Qualifications
• BS in Civil Engineering required, MS a plus
• 3-5+ years of professional transportation engineering experience required
• EIT required, PE certification preferred
