Job Description
The Electrical Reliability Studies Engineer is responsible for performing power-system and Reliability, Availability and Maintainability ( RAM ) studies for power generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, data centers and mission-critical facilities. As a reliability studies engineer, you will develop and validate technical models, perform system-impact and RAM studies, identify operational and design risks, and recommend practical improvements to system availability, redundancy, resilience, and maintainability The successful candidate shall demonstrate experience and technical knowledge in reliability analysis, equipment failure rates, availability calculations, and related methodologies gained through work with consulting engineering firms, developers, and/or utilities. Key Responsibilities Develop RAM models using reliability block diagrams, fault trees, equipment failure rates, repair times, maintenance assumptions, operational dependencies, and resource constraints. Calculate system reliability, availability, and expected downtime, and identify critical equipment, single points of failure, system bottlenecks, and major contributors to downtime or service interruptions. Perform normal-condition, single-contingency, multiple-contingency, and extreme-event assessments in accordance with applicable NERC Reliability Standards. Prepare technical reports and present study methodologies, findings, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. Maintain knowledge of applicable NERC and FERC requirements and relevant
