As a Segment Quality Engineer, you will work on global reviews and enhancements to existing Quality processes as well as development of/input on new processes to provide controls if new opportunities are identified. Your role will involve partnering with other groups in the development, implementation and completion of these efforts. Your efforts will require close collaboration with Cast & Crew from all across the Disney Experiences Segment, including global Quality Engineering teams, Global Design Assurance, Global Technology and Engineering, and Project Development, among many others across Disney Parks, Resorts, Cruise Line, and other Signature Experiences! The WSA Segment Quality Engineer will report to the Senior Manager, Segment Quality Engineering. What You Will Do Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating content development for globally-applicable standards and business practices Develop and draft quality process solutions for broader consideration/further development Prepare Presentations for our team, and potentially for global partners and Executives Provide timely, clear, concise communication to management, team members and partners about work status and impacts Perform reviews of various types of data for the purpose of investigation into areas of opportunity (this could include reviews of maintenance data, technical drawing release data, parts procurement data, survey data, etc.) Perform/Participate in reviews to validate compliance with Disney Standards, applicable industry standards, and requirements from local regulatory authorities for new equipment or design changes to existing assets Support Disney safety communication processes with coordination of survey data and research Potential work during off-hours/3rd shift hours to support reviews/ investigations when needed. Potential domestic or international travel to support this work (Approximately one trip per year on average, if needed.) Required Qualifications & Skills 2+ years of Engineering, Quality Assurance (Production/manufacturing, not Software), or Ride Inspection/Compliance experience Able to communicate technical concepts in writing Ability to communicate complex issues to non-technical peers and management Excellent problem-solving, balanced with a strong ability to see various perspectives to ensure an optimized outcome for all stakeholders Ability to work in a multi-discipline, technical team environment Strong interpersonal and team-building abilities Experience managing multiple projects/assignments and priorities Preferred Qualifications Fundamentals of Engineering Certificate 1+ years of experience with Disney in a technical capacity Knowledge gained by experience in the following: Project Development work Equipment inspection/documentation review Participation in Risk Assessment/ Hazard Analysis development Editing/ drafting standards, business practices, manuals, or equivalent Education Bachelor of Science from an ABET accredited engineering program such as
Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Preferred:
Post Graduate Work in engineering or technical subject area The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $95,500-$128,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
