Job Description

Senior Quality Engineer

On-siteEngineering

Fremont, California, United States Description

Quality Engineer to ensure product quality, reliability, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle. This role partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supply Chain to maintain high quality standards, drive continuous improvement, and support efficient production of industry-leading technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001)

Define quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and operations

Partner with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the product lifecycle

Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection processes for servers, storage systems, and rack-level builds

Monitor production quality metrics (yield, defect rates, rework, RMA trends)

Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)

Support supplier quality activities, including incoming inspection, supplier corrective actions, and quality performance monitoring

Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier corrective actions

Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues and escalations

Ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards

Support customer audits and quality reviews

Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers

Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field)

2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering within IT, hardware industry

Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (CAPA, 8D, 5 Whys, SPC, FMEA)

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in server, storage, networking, or data center hardware

Supplier quality or contract manufacturing experience

Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent quality certification

Experience with reliability testing or failure analysis
