The role pairs ownership of formal quality systems with practical problem solving on the production floor, and requires frequent travel to work alongside site teams. What you'll do
- Own and expand the quality management systems at several facilities, guiding them toward ISO 9001 and AS9100 certification and ongoing compliance.
- Spend time on-site at recently acquired shops to spot structural weaknesses, implement corrective measures and put durable quality processes in place.
- Investigate nonconforming parts, excess waste and low throughput by applying dimensional tolerancing, cause analysis and process knowledge.
- Run first article inspections, material review board decisions and structured corrective action reports.
- Act as the final point of contact when serious quality problems arise.
- Partner with software colleagues so that automated workflows and inspection records feed an internal platform and give live visibility into quality. Requirements What we're looking for
- At least 7 years of quality engineering experience.
- Background leading the quality function at an aerospace manufacturer.
- Experience merging or rebuilding a quality management system after an acquisition.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace or industrial engineering.
- A recognized quality certification such as CQE, CQA or Six Sigma.
- Thorough understanding of AS9100 and
ISO 9001
requirements.
- Strong command of geometric tolerancing, problem-solving methods and measurement science.
- Hands-on familiarity with first article, nonconformance, material review and corrective action processes.
- Credibility with production staff and a practical, coaching approach to working with machine operators.
- U.S. citizenship required due to export control rules.
