The Quality Supervisoris responsible for overseeing quality assurance processes within the injection molding production environment. This role ensures that all products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards. The Quality Supervisor leads a team of quality inspectors, technicians and engineers, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.Pay:
$92,000 to $125,285Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Oversee the inspection and testing of plastic components to ensure compliance with customer specifications. Maintain and enforce quality standards, procedures, and work instructions. Investigate non-conforming materials and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Ensure compliance withISO 9001, ISO
13485, MedAccred, or other relevant industry standards. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and lead corrective action implementation for quality defects. Approve first article inspections and establish in-process quality checks. Team Leadership & Development Supervise and train quality inspectors and technicians on inspection techniques, measurement tools, programming, and quality protocols. Assign daily tasks and monitor performance to ensure adherence to quality standards. Provide coaching and conduct performance evaluations for the quality team. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the quality department. Process Improvement & Compliance Identify and implement areas for improvement within the QMS to support division and corporate objectives. Support continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality methodologies. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve mold validation and process stability. Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and industry regulations. Customer & Supplier Relations Address customer complaints and work with teams to implement corrective actions. Participate in supplier quality audits and work with vendors on quality-related concerns. Support internal and external audits, preparing reports and corrective action responses as needed.Job Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience). A minimum of two years' experience with supervising or managing a team. A minimum of three years' experience with recognized quality systems (ISO, AS, QS). A minimum of two years' experience with medical quality systems such asISO 13485. A
minimum of five years' experience working in quality assurance. A minimum of five years' experience within an injection molding or plastics manufacturing environment. Proficiency with quality inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, vision systems, etc.). Experience with SPC, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, and GD&T methodologies. Knowledge ofISO 9001, ISO
13485, and regulatory requirements. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of employees, suppliers, and customers. Strong leadership and management skills. Experience in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective & Preventive Action Ability to analyze data, assess processes, and identify opportunities for improvement. Certifications (Preferred): Six Sigma Green Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods. Capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small tools, machine components, and molds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection. Occasional bending, kneeling, and reaching to access equipment if needed. Good vision and color perception for inspecting parts and identifying any defects or abnormalities. Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments and withstand exposure to noise levels associated with manufacturing machinery. Ability to receive, comprehend and utilize required training from OSHA and Company including but not limited to the following: Hazard Communication, Lock Out/Tag Out, First Aid and CPR (optional)ITAR Requirements:
