Job Description
Trajectory Recruiting is partnering with a growing manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Quality Engineer to join its team in Stamford, Connecticut. This position will play a key role in overseeing and improving the site's Quality Management System (QMS) , supporting continued compliance with
ISO 9001
, and ensuring products and processes consistently meet customer expectations. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and hands-on manufacturing quality experience. This role works closely with cross-functional teams and will be highly involved in corrective actions, audits, continuous improvement initiatives, supplier quality, and overall quality performance. Key Responsibilities Provide quality leadership and support for internal and external audits, includingISO 9001
compliance and audit preparation. Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans, procedures, inspection systems, and related documentation. Oversee product quality throughout the manufacturing process and serve as the quality representative for inspections, quality holds, CAPAs, corrective actions, and production meetings. Partner with cross-functional teams to identify quality concerns and drive effective solutions. Analyze quality data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to support KPI goals and operational performance. Troubleshoot quality issues and provide technical support to production and other departments. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to customer returns and internal rejects. Utilize problem-solving methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, 8D, and CAPA. Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and Kaizen events from a quality perspective. Assist with project charters, anticipated ROI/payback, and measurement of KPI impact. Support supplier quality development and performance monitoring. Conduct supplier quality audits as needed. Promote strong communication and collaboration across departments. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Materials, Biomedical, or a related engineering discipline preferred. Minimum of 3 years of quality-related experience . Equivalent experience working closely with Quality in a manufacturing environment may be considered. Demonstrated experience implementing, maintaining, or improving a Quality Management System. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management principles. Experience with AS9100 is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze quality metrics and identify trends. Experience using statistical tools to support quality and process improvement initiatives. Understanding of applicable manufacturing regulations and industry standards. Knowledge of GD&T , including datum schemes, product tolerancing, and gauging, is preferred. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to travel up to 15%. Preferred Qualifications ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Auditor Certification. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification. Experience with supplier quality audits. Experience leading Kaizen or Continuous Improvement initiatives.
