- John Deere Waterloo Works This is a vital, long-term 1+ year contract opportunity paying up to $45/hr, including 2 Weeks of PTO.
In this role, you will support Drivetrain Components Manufacturing, leveraging advanced quality management principles to resolve technical issues, drive closed-loop corrective actions, and ensure product quality consistently exceeds customer expectations.

Up to $45/hr (W2).

100% Onsite at Waterloo Works

Shift:
1st Shift (7:00 AM
Schedule:
Monday
- Friday, with possible overtime required based on production needs.

Metatarsal safety boots required on Day 1. Candidates must be comfortable in a shop floor setting (~75% of shift on feet; ability to lift up to 30 lbs).

Core Responsibilities Issue Resolution & Quality Initiatives:
Lead drivetrain component issue resolution on the shop floor while executing quality improvement projects, including QIT, PFMEA, DPQ, Six Sigma, and Smart Connected Factory initiatives.
Structured Problem-Solving:
Utilize statistical analysis and structured root-cause methodologies to solve complex gear, shaft, and component manufacturing challenges.
Control Plans & Process Control:
Manage, develop, update, and enforce execution of manufacturing control plans.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
Plan, organize, and facilitate cross-functional and cross-departmental projects aimed at reducing customer warranty claims and elevating quality performance.
Required Skills & Experience Quality Toolkit Mastery:
Hands-on experience with standard quality management tools (FMEA, SPC, Root Cause, Control Plans, Gauge R&R, MSA, and Capability Studies).
Engineering Print & GD&T Literacy:
Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting complex engineering part drawings, with functional knowledge of GD&T principles.
Manufacturing Knowledge:
Specific experience with gear or shaft manufacturing standards, processes, and controls.
Corrective Action & Data Analysis:
Proven track record in driving closed-loop corrective actions and leveraging statistical data gathering/analysis techniques.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Technology (or equivalent relevant work experience). What Makes You Stand Out Cross-functional project management experience and strong team facilitation skills. Proficiency with analytical and reporting software (Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, or Minitab). ASQ Certifications (CQE, CSSGB, or CSSBB). Direct shop floor experience in Drivetrain Components manufacturing.
