About the Role We are seeking a Quality Engineer I to join a leading manufacturing organization in Moline, IL . This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working directly on the production floor, solving quality issues, driving root cause analysis, and partnering with manufacturing teams to improve product quality and operational performance. This position is fully onsite and requires hands-on engagement with machining, welding, assembly, and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Provide daily quality support to manufacturing and production teams Serve as the primary quality contact for assigned production departments Investigate quality concerns and lead root cause analysis efforts Drive corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality Support scrap reduction, non-conforming material, and Material Review Board (MRB) processes Analyze quality data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement Support cleanliness testing and quality audits Maintain quality reporting systems and automated data collection tools Collaborate with operators, supervisors, engineering teams, and suppliers Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality and manufacturing performance Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field Experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills Experience supporting production operations and manufacturing processes Ability to analyze data and implement corrective actions Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work onsite in Moline, IL five days per week Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting machining operations Experience with welding, plating, assembly, or other manufacturing processes Knowledge of MRB, non-conforming material, and scrap reduction processes Experience with quality data collection and reporting systems Familiarity with QDAS, JDAAT, or similar quality tools Continuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience Work Environment Manufacturing facility environment Frequent interaction with production personnel Hands-on shop floor support Metatarsal safety boots required on the first day
