Periodic travel to Milwaukee, WI Position Overview KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer for a precision manufacturing organization in Morton Grove, IL. The organization is expanding its aerospace and defense manufacturing programs following recent AS9100 certification and is seeking additional quality engineering support for new product launches and transferred programs. This is a hands-on quality engineering and documentation role with significant responsibility for

APQP, PPAP, AS9102

First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), Certificates of Conformance, source inspection, and AS9100 compliance. The Quality Engineer will primarily support the Morton Grove facility while providing additional launch-quality support to a manufacturing location in Milwaukee, WI. This is not a supervisory position; the successful candidate should be comfortable independently owning quality documentation and helping strengthen processes within a developing quality system. Key Responsibilities Launch Quality & Documentation Develop and maintain APQP documentation for new and transferred programs, including process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, control plans, and supporting records. Compile, prepare, and submit PPAP packages through customer approval. Prepare dimensional results, material and performance test documentation, measurement system analyses, and process capability studies. Prepare First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 for new and revised parts. Issue Certificates of Conformance (CoCs) and maintain the the company documentation trail. Submit and manage quality documentation through customer portals and track submissions through final disposition. Support customer and third-party source inspections, including documentation preparation, coordination, and closure of findings. Partner with tooling, process, manufacturing, and quality teams to establish quality requirements for new tooling and program launches. Quality System Support Help strengthen and mature the site's recently implemented AS9100 quality management system. Improve procedures, records, documentation practices, and overall audit readiness. Support internal and customer audits. Assist with corrective-action documentation and follow-through. Help establish consistent quality processes and documentation within a growing manufacturing environment. Multi-Site Support Provide quality engineering support for new product launches at a second manufacturing facility in Milwaukee, WI. Assist with APQP and PPAP documentation and other launch-quality requirements. Travel to Milwaukee may initially be required a couple of days per week, with travel expected to decrease to approximately a couple of days per month as launch activity stabilizes. Required Qualifications 5+ years of quality engineering experience within precision stamping, metal forming, machining, or a comparable manufacturing environment. Demonstrated hands-on ownership of APQP and PPAP submissions, including personally developing and completing documentation packages. Working knowledge of AS9100 requirements within a production/manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience preparing AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs). Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation. Experience submitting and managing documentation through customer quality portals. Experience working within and documenting quality information in an ERP system. Strong documentation, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and establish structure within a quality system that is continuing to mature. Ability to work 100% onsite in Morton Grove, IL and travel periodically to Milwaukee, WI. Must meet applicable U.S. person/ITAR eligibility requirements for work involving controlled programs. Preferred Qualifications Aerospace and/or defense manufacturing experience, particularly involving new product launches or transferred programs. Work Environment This position is based in a precision metal stamping/manufacturing facility supporting aerospace, defense, medical device, energy, transportation, electronics, and other end markets. The position requires regular interaction with manufacturing and engineering personnel on the production floor. Appropriate PPE, including steel-toed footwear and safety glasses, is required in designated manufacturing areas.
