Job Description
Linde Inc. Reliability Engineer East Chicago, IN River Rouge, MI What you will enjoy doing: Take responsibility as one of two Reliability Engineers managing Air Separation, CO2, and Hydrogen facilities in the North Region Work closely with reliability and operations teams to identify and resolve long-term asset concerns and reliability threats Analyze data from multiple sources to recommend and justify lifecycle cost and reliability improvement activities You will lead Root Cause Analysis processes for major failures to prevent recurrence And you will assist in engineering, design, specification, and execution of projects to optimize reliability and operability Review and update Standard Maintenance Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures You will develop and support Reliability Assessments for facilities and equipment Utilize continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma to enhance reliability Lead reliability programs and initiatives to improve asset performance You will assist with critical spare parts identification and Bill of Materials creation for key assets Balance office and field work with a strong sense of urgency and integrity Thrive in a team that values diversity and inclusion, bringing your unique perspective to collaborative problem-solving What makes you great: You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering and minimum five years of experience in maintenance or reliability engineering within an industrial manufacturing environment Further you have proven expertise in maintenance and engineering of mechanical equipment such as compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, piping, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Ability to interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and machinery drawings Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies You have experience in engineering, specification, and design of mechanical systems and projects Strong communication, presentation, and team collaboration skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead or participate effectively in cross-functional teams Self-starter with excellent multitasking and organizational skills, achieving results with minimal supervision Proficiency in standard computer software including Microsoft Office and email Preferred knowledge of regulatory and industrial standards and codes is required in this role Familiarity with machinery installation, commissioning, and process optimization Certification or status as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional or Certified Reliability Engineer is advantageous You have experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and understanding of reliability strategies such as Reliability Centered Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Spare Parts Management, Planning and Scheduling, and CMMS optimization Commitment to uphold safety, integrity, and respect in a diverse and inclusive workplace environment Travel domestically approximately 20-25% of the time and be accessible during off-hours as needed Why you will love working with us: Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2025 sales of $34 billion.
