Radial Bearing, powered by Cablecraft, designs and manufactures engineered motion-control linkage products, including rod ends, spherical bearings, linkage assemblies and custom-engineered solutions used in demanding applications across on-road vehicle, construction and agriculture, aerospace and defense, and general industrial markets. The ideal candidate is an experienced quality engineer and problem solver who is equally comfortable analyzing data, reviewing drawings and specifications, leading corrective actions and working with customers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Management representative for quality and is responsible for maintaining certification to ISO9001 including revisions and updates of the Quality Manual. Management representative for ISO9001 recertification and surveillance audits. Authority and responsibility to ensure QMS compliance. Cooperates with other top management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and goals. Works directly with customers to resolve quality issues including accessing customer portals, processing RMAs, root cause analysis and CAPAs. Interpretation of customer specifications, drawings and requirements, and verification the appropriate Cablecraft standards, practices and designs have been employed to meet the customer standards. Active Involvement in APQP (Control Plans, Standardized Work, PPAP, PFMEA, GR&R), GD&T and Process Capability Studies. Maintain all quality specification documentation within the quality system, including the creation and maintenance of specifications, work instructions, procedures, and other documentation. Perform internal audits in accordance with the procedures prescribed in the quality system. Maintain Corrective / Preventative Action documentation and logs. Verify the effectiveness of Corrective and Continuous improvement actions. Actively participate in trouble shooting, lead corrective action teams and mfg. co-workers in understanding and valuing the importance of corrective actions and lessons learned. Manage the hourly Quality department personnel.
Qualifications / Knowledge
/ Skills Strong knowledge of manufacturing quality principles and process improvement methodologies. Knowledge and experience working within customer portals Demonstrated ability to lead root-cause analysis and corrective-action activities. Strong understanding of dimensional drawings, GD&T, tolerances and manufacturing specifications. Working knowledge of machining and/or precision manufacturing processes. Experience with SPC, process capability analysis and statistical problem solving. Experience with inspection and measurement equipment and measurement-system principles. Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, APQP and First Article Inspection methodologies preferred. Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or other structured Quality Management Systems preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with production employees, leadership, customers and suppliers. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; ERP and quality-system software experience preferred.
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Preferred:
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, Lean certification or comparable professional certification. Experience Minimum 5 years of progressive Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in precision machining, metalworking, bearings, linkage products, automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment or another engineered-product manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience leading significant corrective-action and manufacturing-process improvement projects. Experience working directly with customers on quality issues. Experience operating in a manufacturing environment with complex customer specifications and tight dimensional tolerances strongly preferred.
