Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Position Responsibilities:
Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System. Participates in product design reviews and researches the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan and establish technical requirements for producibility. Develops statements of work with validated specifications, requirements, and functions and prepares design or fabrication off load packages. Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares. Coordinates training for Production and Maintenance personnel. Provides technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems, and analyzing data to identify solutions. Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements. Assists with disposition of equipment and tooling. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. Some travel to vendor factories will be required.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in ABET Accredited course of study in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a similar discipline.) Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in a complex, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Knowledge of various manufacturing techniques Ten (10) or more years of experience working in a production environment AutoCAD or equivalent design experience Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems Experience with Automation, Robotics, and Controls Ability to learn in a fast paced environment Ability to collaborate with both the engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floor Project management knowledge Strong communication skillsUnion:
