Summary • This role will be in support of Robotics & Automation's Optical Encoder Product Line. As a Quality Engineer, you'll ensure product quality and reliability. The ideal candidate will have some quality experience in mechatronic and electronic systems. The Quality Engineer will have a strong customer focus and have the desire to drive quality investigations and improvements, and to be a major contributor to new product development programs. They will be self-starting, with a strong desire to succeed, collaborate and grow with others in the organization. The candidate will demonstrate passion and rigor needed to develop/deliver a product to market and sustain released products. Key responsibility for the overall management of incoming, in-process and final inspection, along with RMA activities and projects and support Supplier Quality activities as well. This individual will be responsible for processing and analyzing incoming RMAs from the field and drive the process through to customer closure. The Quality Engineer will have a strong customer focus and have the desire to drive quality investigations and improvements, and to be a contributor to new product development programs. Primary Responsibilities Customer Quality Successfully represents Celera Motion when addressing key customer quality issues. Ensures effective, timely communication and complete problem resolution.
Effectively present findings and actions from RMA investigations via 8D, 5WHY and other forms of reporting methods
Initiates and implements quality improvement activities as appropriate (e.g., Novanta Growth System, Kaizen, Six Sigma/ Lean) to improve the performance of the company's products.
Support MRB inventory and scrap reduction efforts Supplier Quality Communicate confirmed/suspected supplier quality issues and drive to full resolution through supplier, supported by the Supplier Quality Department Quality Control Define sampling plans according to product risk.
Perform and maintain First Article Inspection Reports and other product
Qualification documentation.
CMM Programming and Operating (desired) NPI Quality Engineering Lead part qualifications both internally and within the supply chain
Assist in engineering to production transfers.
Provide product compliance certification support.
Participate and facilitate D/PFMEAs Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies 0 - 2 Years of relevant work experience with an exposure to Quality Control Tools, Inspection processes, and Basic Root Cause Analysis.
Possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar experience
Must demonstrate the ability to show initiative and commitment to the company's goals as well as readily adapt to changing requirements.
Able to work from specifications, technical manuals, schematics, and verbal/written instructions.
Familiarity working with
ISO9001/ISO13485
preferred Experience programming CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) preferred Compensation and Benefits The base pay for this position is $65,340 to $97,700 per year depending on the geographic market.
