Job Description

General Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to join our Quality team supporting automotive customers as the primary quality interface regarding customer complaints, corrective actions, and ongoing quality-related communication as well a portion of APQP and launches. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving quality, supporting customer-specific requirements, leading problem-solving activities, and ensuring compliance with our Quality Management System and
IATF 16949
requirements. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor, investigating quality concerns, analyzing data, communicating with customers, and working cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, Maintenance, and other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Support compliance with
IATF 16949, ISO
9001, customer-specific requirements, and internal quality procedures. Serve as a quality resource for manufacturing operations and provide hands-on support for production-related quality issues. Investigate internal and external quality concerns and lead structured root-cause analysis and corrective actions using tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, and other problem-solving methodologies. Lead customer complaints, corrective actions, containment activities, sorting activities, and verification of corrective-action effectiveness. Participate in APQP activities for new products, process changes, material changes, and product launches. Analyze quality data, identify trends, and initiate actions to reduce defects, scrap, rework, customer complaints, and other costs of poor quality. Assist with disposition and investigation of nonconforming material. Participate in customer, certification, internal, and layered audits. Support customer-specific systems and requirements for automotive OEMs as applicable. Effectively communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally with customers, suppliers, management, and cross-functional teams. Promote a culture in which quality is everyone's responsibility, and employees are encouraged to identify and communicate potential quality concerns. Support process capability studies, SPC analysis, measurement system analysis (MSA), and Gage R&R studies.
Job Requirements:
  • Quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and/or
ISO 9001.
Experience with structured root-cause analysis and corrective action. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with production employees, management, customers, and suppliers. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other standard business applications
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Tier 1 automotive supplier experience. Experience supporting automotive OEM customers such as GM, Nissan, Ford, Stellantis, Toyota, or similar manufacturers. Experience preparing and responding to 8D corrective actions. Experience with customer portals and customer-specific requirements. Internal auditor or
