Gain exposure to emerging technologies, robotics, advanced controls, and smart factory initiatives. Your Role As an Onsite Controls Commissioning Engineer, you will play a critical role in the installation support, startup, testing, and commissioning of automated manufacturing systems at customer facilities. You will be working alongside our project teams and plant personnel to bring systems online and optimize operation. Support equipment installation, power-up, debugging, production trials, and launch activities. Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion control, robotics, networking, and industrial communication systems. Validate controls sequences, safety systems, and production functionality. Identify and resolve technical issues while minimizing production impacts. Work directly with customers to understand operational challenges and implement effective solutions. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system performance and reliability. Travel to customer locations across North America to support major project and launch activities. Travel Requirements This position is designed for engineers who enjoy working onsite, close to the action. Up to 70% travel throughout North America supporting major projects, commissioning, and production startup activities. Opportunity to work across multiple industries and manufacturing technologies.
Qualifications Required:
What We're Looking For We are seeking motivated engineers who enjoy solving technical challenges and working directly with equipment in demanding manufacturing environments. A background in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Design, Automation, or Industrial Engineering (college or university level). Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills. A passion for learning and adapting to new technologies. Experience programming PLCs (Ladder Logic) Ability to read electrical schematics Other Skills (Not Required, But a Plus!): Familiarity with Rockwell or Siemens PLCs Familiarity with Robotics (Fanuc, Kuka) Familiarity with HMIs (e.g., Factory Talk View, WinCC). Understanding of IT/Networking and database applications.
