Month Contract Location:
Syracuse, NY area
Schedule:
First shift
Pay:
$40-$60 per hour, based on experience

Paid holidays and project completion bonus Sapphire Recruitment is hiring a Quality Engineer for a 7+ month project with an advanced manufacturing company in the Syracuse area. This role will support quality systems, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement within a precision electromechanical environment. The Quality Engineer will work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues, strengthen processes, and improve product performance and reliability. Responsibilities Conduct product, process, and manufacturing audits to identify quality gaps and improvement opportunities. Develop and maintain quality standards, inspection plans, procedures, and supporting documentation. Investigate nonconformances, product quality concerns, and customer issues. Lead root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action efforts. Analyze quality data and performance metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements. Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to reduce defects and improve process capability and product reliability. Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Train and assist production personnel with quality standards, inspection methods, and best practices. Collaborate across departments to improve quality performance and customer satisfaction. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Previous experience in quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or process improvement. Experience in precision electromechanical manufacturing is preferred, including medical devices, industrial automation, robotics, machine vision, motion control, or optical systems. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and other quality improvement tools. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
