Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Novelis has approximately 13,000 employees in 32 operating facilities on 4 continents. The Novelis Ashville team is seeking a Reliability Engineer. This role is responsible for improving the reliability, availability, and maintainability of plant equipment. This role works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Production teams to identify equipment performance issues, eliminate recurring failures, and implement long-term reliability improvements. The Reliability Engineer will lead reliability initiatives for coating lines, slitters, thermal processing equipment, cranes, utility systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drives, and automation equipment. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, data analysis, root cause investigations, preventive maintenance optimization, and project management capabilities. Responsibilities Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures to using problem solving tools. Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Analyze downtime, maintenance, and reliability data. Develop and track KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, and equipment availability. Maintain CMMS asset hierarchy, equipment data, and maintenance records. Support fixing production and utility systems. Lead reliability improvement and equipment upgrade projects. Promote safe work practices and compliance with company standards. Work closely with maintenance technicians, operations teams, and external vendors. Reduce recurring equipment failures. Improve equipment uptime and reliability. Increase PM compliance and effectiveness. Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives. Build strong partnerships with Operations and Maintenance teams. Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including
ISO 9001
2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering field. 3+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or manufacturing engineering. Experience in industrial manufacturing environments. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems. Experience with any CMMS and Microsoft Office applications. Most likely Oracle, Artist, Coupa ,SAP etc. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment. Ability to walk, climb stairs, and access production equipment. Ability to wear required PPE. Ability to support equipment troubleshooting during off-hours when needed Preferred qualifications Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). Knowledge of vibration analysis, thermography, and predictive maintenance tools. CMRP, Six Sigma, or related certifications. Experience in aluminum, metal processing, or continuous manufacturing operations. Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
