Senior Commissioning Engineer Reports to:Commissioning Engineering Manager Location:
Ironton, Ohio Salary Range:
$55.00 - $72.00 per hour (Eligible for Overtime) We consider several factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates. Superior is looking for a Senior Commissioning Engineer who will lead commissioning planning, startup, and energization activities for complex electrical systems. The Senior Commissioning Engineer is responsible for developing and approving methods of procedure (MOPs), overseeing lockout/tagout (LOTO) planning, conducting pre-energization readiness reviews, and supporting safe system energization. This role serves as a key technical resource, coordinating with project teams and stakeholders while providing guidance on power distribution systems. This role is based on a jobsite and supports projects across Ironton, Ohio with jobsite assignment based on business needs. Key Responsibilities Lead development and approval of complex methods of procedures (MOPs) documents Oversee LOTO planning and energized work strategies Lead pre-energization readiness reviews and support complex startup activities Review and validate one-line diagrams, switching sequences, and system interdependencies Identify and mitigate startup, energization, and system integration risks Drive resolution of complex commissioning and technical issues Lead technical coordination with owners, construction managers, manufacturers, distributors, and testing partners Coordinate closely with Field Operations, Project Operations, and Engineering teams Mentor and provide technical guidance to Commissioning Engineers Support continuous improvement of QACx workflows and standardsYour Expertise Required:
You have at least 5 years of experience in quality control, testing, and commissioning of electrical systemsRequired:
You have strong technical understanding of medium and low voltage power distribution including Switchgears, UPS systems, Generators, and redundantly fed power systemsRequired:
You have experience withNFPA, NEC, NFPA
70E and other applicable codes and standardsBonus Points:
You have a Bachelor's degree inElectrical Engineering Bonus Points:
