The Quality Engineer will primarily be responsible to ensure that all products and services meet or exceed established quality standards by developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality control systems, identifying and resolving defects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The Quality Engineer will also be responsible for managing new product launches to ensure the success of the qualification process and manufacturing execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following: Support manufacturing with resolution of quality issues via root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action processes, related to both internal and external customers. Participates and / or leads strategic projects, improving product quality, waste reduction and operational efficiencies. Support the Quality Management System, as applicable. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control inspection plans. Participate and / or lead customer and internal audits, as defined by the quality management system. Shop floor surveillance to compliance with internal procedures / standards and customer requirements. Analysis of production / quality data to implement continuous improvement actions. Provide support for the implementation and sustaining of statistical process control (SPC). Participation in design teams for product development (raw materials and finished goods), where qualification / validation is required. Assists Quality and Sourcing in monitoring, reporting and resolving supplier quality concerns. Takes the lead on proactive quality / continuous improvement projects related to manufacturing execution systems on assets, data analysis, etc. Manage customer portals for quality claims, testing protocols, surveys, etc. Manage new product launches once the process transitions from product development to manufacturing. Manage custom and / or customer specifications, related to quality standards, packaging, labeling / graphics and pallet pattern requirements that will be disseminated to the business.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to work safely in a faced-paced production environment.
  • Excellent organizational, written and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, instruct and facilitate problem-solving events with all levels of the manufacturing team.
  • Self-motivated and can work cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Must be results oriented, multi-tasking and able to respond to urgent needs and deadlines.
  • Detail oriented and results driven with highly effective decision-making skills.
  • Proficient with computer skills and business-related computer software programs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and / or related field.
  • 3 - 7 years' experience in quality / process engineering and / or continuous improvement role, preferred in a plastics manufacturing environment (i.e. injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming)
  • Retail industry experience, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of
ISO 9001
Quality Management System
  • Six Sigma Green and / or Black Belt certification, preferred.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP and / or PMP), preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Works in both an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Humidity levels may be elevated during summer months.
  • Exposure to loud noise levels, at times (PPE provided).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be physically capable of performing job related tasks and job duties.
  • Flexible hours may be required to accommodate meetings, training, project work, etc.
  • Lift objects up to 50 lbs.
The pay range for this role is: 75,000 - 95,000 USD per year(J&O Rittman)
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
