Job Description

QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER
Position Summary The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving product quality throughout the electro-plated steel manufacturing process. This position works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Sales to ensure products meet customer specifications, internal quality standards, and applicable requirements. The Quality Assurance Engineer will analyze quality data, investigate process and product issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across plating, rolling, annealing, finishing, and related manufacturing processes. Primary Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor quality processes, procedures, and controls to ensure consistent product quality. Monitor manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, process variation, and opportunities for improvement. Support quality assurance activities throughout Plating, Rolling, Annealing, Finishing, and related processes. Investigate customer complaints, product performance issues, internal quality concerns, and nonconforming material. Conduct root cause analysis and develop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions. Review and disposition held, nonconforming, and suspect material in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements. Work with Operations and Manufacturing personnel to identify process improvements that improve quality, productivity, and cost effectiveness. Partner with Customer Technical Services and Inside Sales to understand customer requirements and resolve quality-related issues. Assist with development and maintenance of process specifications, quality standards, inspection methods, and work instructions. Support customer and internal audits and provide technical information and documentation as required. Assist with quality system initiatives, including documentation, data analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement projects. Utilize statistical and analytical methods to evaluate process capability and identify opportunities to reduce defects and variation. Participate in cross-functional problem-solving teams and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel regarding quality requirements and process controls. Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing operation. Education, Skills & Qualifications Four-year degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or a related technical field. Preferred degree in Chemical Engineering. Experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, process engineering, or a related field preferred. Experience with quality systems, root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement preferred. Manufacturing experience in steel, metals, electroplating, coating, or related continuous-process industries is a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to interpret technical data, specifications, drawings, and quality requirements. Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal direction. Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data analysis tools (Minitab). Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Must not require sponsorship now or in the future.

$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
