Quality Assurance Engineer I

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who thrives in manufacturing environments and wants to grow into a quality systems expert.

Ideal CandidateYou are a detail-oriented, proactive systems thinker with a solid foundation in manufacturing quality. You enjoy leading structured root cause analysis and translating standards into practical controls. You are eager to build skills in customer complaint management, internal auditing, document control, and corrective action leadership. You collaborate well across departments and take pride in reducing variation, scrap, rework, and customer complaints through data-driven improvements.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Complaints
  • Maintain and update the Customer Complaint Log
  • -Lead complaint investigations including containment and product impact evaluation
  • -Identify trends and drive actions that reduce repeat issues and overall complaints.
Corrective Action (CA) System
  • -Initiate and manage corrective actions tied to complaints, audits, and recurring issues
  • Lead structured root cause analysis (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, A3)
  • -Ensure timely closure and complete documentation
  • Verify effectiveness of implemented countermeasures.
ISO 9001 / QMS
Support
  • Support daily
ISO 9001
execution and maintain audit-ready logs and records
  • -Coordinate training requirements and maintain training records
  • -Provide inputs for management review including KPIs, CA status, audit results, and onboarding progress.
Internal Audit Program
  • Coordinate internal audit schedules, auditor assignments, and preparation
  • -Participate in audits and issue objective, evidence-based findings
  • -Track findings to closure and trigger corrective actions when needed
  • -Trend audit results to identify systemic improvement opportunities.
Documentation and Document Control
  • Assist departments in creating and updating SOPs and work instructions
  • -Support document control processes including revisions, approvals, release, and obsolescence
  • -Reinforce point-of-use clarity and ensure training alignment for updated documents.
Industry Standards and Certifications (AWWA, NSF, UL, BNQ, etc.
  • -Learn and maintain working knowledge of applicable standards and certification requirements
  • -Support compliance activities and evidence collection
  • -Manage external documents and communicate updates to affected functions.
Continuous Improvement (CI
  • -Participate in CI and Lean events including Kaizen and A3 activities
  • -Use data to prioritize improvement opportunities and reduce variation, scrap, and rework
  • -Convert improvements into sustained controls such as standard work, check sheets, and audit points.
QualificationsRequired_Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)._Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills._Working knowledge of manufacturing quality concepts and willingness to learn ISO 9001 and industry standards.

Preferred
  • 2 + yrs. experience (Level 1 opening) in manufacturing quality, process engineering, or continuous improvement
  • -Experience in foundry or heavy manufacturing environments
  • -Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequent sitting, talking, and hearing; occasional standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling
  • -Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • -Work includes both office and manufacturing environments with exposure to mechanical equipment, fumes, weather conditions, heat, cold, humidity, chemicals, vibration, and moderate noise.
