This energetic position offers the opportunity to lead system commissioning activities, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with industry standards. As a key contributor, you will drive project success by applying your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to complex electrical systems, from power distribution to system integration. Responsibilities Lead the commissioning process for high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, ensuring seamless integration and operational readiness. Develop detailed project schedules to coordinate testing phases, installation sequences, and system startup activities. Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of AC/DC electrical systems, power electronics circuits, and power system protection schemes in accordance with IEEE standards and NEC codes. Ensure compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NESC (National Electrical Safety Code), and relevant electrical building codes during all phases of commissioning. Collaborate with project management teams to monitor progress, report on commissioning milestones, and address technical issues proactively. Support construction teams during installation activities by reviewing schematics, providing technical guidance, and verifying system integrity before energization. Conduct safety inspections aligned with industry standards to uphold high-voltage safety protocols throughout commissioning activities. Document all testing procedures, results, and deviations meticulously to ensure traceability and quality assurance. Experience Proven experience in power distribution engineering within the energy or utility sectors, including public utility projects or large-scale infrastructure developments. Strong background in electrical engineering principles related to high-voltage systems, power electronics circuit design, and system design engineering. Hands-on experience with commissioning or startup of electrical systems involving high-voltage equipment, AC/DC systems, or power system protection devices. Knowledge of IEEE standards implementation related to power systems analysis, protection schemes, and system reliability. Ability to interpret electrical schematics and schematics; experience with construction oversight is advantageous. Excellent troubleshooting skills combined with a systematic approach to resolving complex electrical issues efficiently. Public utility experience or familiarity with utility electrical systems enhances your suitability for this role. Strong project management skills including scheduling, coordination across disciplines, and documentation practices aligned with industry standards such as NEC and NESC.
