Job Title:
Quality Engineer Job Description The Quality Engineer plans, coordinates, and directs quality assurance programs on the manufacturing floor to ensure continuous production of products that consistently meet established customer requirements. This role works closely with manufacturing sites to drive timely completion of quality improvement activities, lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts, and support both ongoing production and new product development with robust quality practices. Responsibilities + Plan, coordinate, and direct quality assurance programs on the manufacturing floor to ensure continuous production of products that meet customer requirements. + Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, investigate issues, and conduct root cause analysis with cross-functional teams. + Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions based on data-driven insights. + Develop and lead quality improvement projects using prioritized metrics such as cost of quality, inspection data, and customer quality escapes. + Prepare reports by collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and summarizing data, and present solution proposals to leadership. + Perform quality audits and establish quality standards for incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products. + Lead cross-functional teams in continuous improvement initiatives and support deployment across all applicable sites. + Report on complex quality analyses and defective products, and recommend necessary quality procedures and process changes. + Ensure compliance throughout all quality testing, validation phases, and documentation processes. + Provide technical leadership and assist in training teams on problem-solving techniques and quality tools. + Support mitigation of customer complaints as part of a cross-functional response team. + Review and manage nonconforming material disposition and oversee inspection of reworked product. + Support the product development process by providing key quality inputs and risk-based assessments. + Facilitate, lead, and train teams in 8D, DMAIC, and 5-Why problem-solving methodologies. + Create, maintain, and enhance Process FMEAs, Control Plans, and process flows. + Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure timely completion of quality improvement activities and adherence to quality standards. + Create work instructions and procedures that support consistent, high-quality production. + Report quality performance and improvement project status to leadership in a clear and structured manner. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. + Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience in a quality role. + Minimum 1 year of Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience. + Experience creating work instructions, procedures, and developing control plans. + Proficiency in statistical analysis and statistical process control. + Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques. + Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings. + Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Experience with quality engineering in a manufacturing environment. + Ability to lead cross-functional teams in quality and continuous improvement initiatives. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience withISO 9001
quality management systems. + Knowledge of electrical assemblies, harnesses, and electrical components. + Experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process). + Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies. + Experience performing or supporting quality audits. + Experience developing and improving PFMEAs and Control Plans. + Experience using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, and 5-Why. + Ability to analyze cost of quality, inspection data, and customer quality escapes to prioritize improvement projects. + Strong presentation skills for communicating findings and recommendations to leadership. + Interest in contributing to a rapidly growing organization and adapting to evolving processes. + Willingness to relocate, with relocation assistance available for the right candidate. Work Environment This position is based in a brand new, large-scale, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility designed to support modern, high-volume production. The role operates on a standard schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Quality Engineer works primarily on the manufacturing floor and within adjacent office and laboratory areas, collaborating closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams. The environment emphasizes data-driven decision-making, continuous improvement, and cross-functional teamwork, with access to quality tools, measurement systems, and analytical resources that support robust quality assurance and process control. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Gallatin, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
