Job Description
United Stars is seeking a Quality Engineer to support our engineered metal products operations. In this role, you will lead quality planning, inspection methods, and problem solving to ensure specialty steel, precision rolled strip, and complex metal stampings meet demanding industrial and OEM requirements. You will analyze data, drive root cause investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions while partnering closely with production, engineering, and customers. This hands on, plant based role supports our culture of craftsmanship, safety, continuous improvement, and pride in American made manufacturing. Responsibilities Develop and maintain quality plans, control plans, and inspection standards for metal products and processes. Use data analysis and SPC to monitor process capability and drive continuous improvement. Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for internal and customer nonconformances. Support PPAP, FMEA, and documentation for new product introductions and process changes. Collaborate with production and engineering to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturability. Conduct audits of processes, products, and quality systems to ensure compliance with ISO standards. Train operators and technicians on quality procedures, measurement techniques, and defect prevention. Interface with customers and suppliers on quality requirements, issues, and improvement initiatives. Required Skills Statistical process control (SPC) Root cause analysis (8 D, 5 Whys, fishbone) Advanced Excel or statistical software (Minitab) GD&T and mechanical drawing interpretation
