JOB DESCRIPTION
The position of Quality Engineer supports operations in a Quality capacity, with a strong focus on problem solving, containment, and corrective action. Day to day focus is on working to reduce Quality issues that impact manufacturing with efforts to achieve business results. Work is performed in an Engine component plant environment where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised, as well as a high level of independent judgment. The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment is critical for success in this role. This job is technical in nature.WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Support day-to-day Quality needs of Manufacturing
- Problem-solve (analyze data, determine root causes, develop implementation plans) and resolve issues which are affecting quality, assembly, or throughput
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and resolve quality issues
- Develop quality work instructions
- Ensure effective containment for non-conforming product
- Effectively communicate Quality Concerns
- Coordinate repair and rework activities
- Support the implementation and effective adherence to all elements within the Spring Hill Quality System
- Must be available to work any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree or Internal GM Candidate
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and ability to comfortably use computers and learn new software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience as a Manufacturing Quality or Process Engineer
- Engineering Degree This role is categorized as onsite.
