The role of Quality Engineer II is to develop and oversee quality processes across the Loram Value Streams, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements, standards, and customer expectations. The Quality Engineer II oversees Verification, Validation, and Non-Conformance systems, leads root cause analysis and corrective actions, and drives cross-functional improvements to enhance quality performance and reduce the Cost of Quality.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Quality Processes Identify non-conforming materials and workmanship, perform root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone), and implement corrective actions. Oversee incoming inspection processes and ensure inspection/test equipment is calibrated, traceable, and compliant. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional interactions to drive sustainable quality improvements and reduce recurrence. Prepare and deliver reports for audits, inspections, nonconformances, and investigations Quality Management Track, analyze, and report the status of verification and validation system performance Provide support to manufacturing, ensuring assembly quality meets KPIs, standards, codes, and regulations. Interface with Engineering, Contract Services, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Customer Service to drive Quality improvements that minimize the costs of Quality. Attend product reviews and cross-functional meetings to ensure quality checkpoints are built into the value stream. Manage supplier quality activities, including issue resolution, corrective actions (SCAR/SCAPA), and collaboration to prevent recurrence. Serve as a neutral liaison representing customer interests (safety, reliability, environmental impact, manufacturability, and performance) Audit & Compliance Support Support and participate in internal and external audits, maintaining audit readiness and closure of findings. bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related fieldExperience:
5+ years of manufacturing, operations, design, supply chain, quality, or regulatory assurance•Licenses/Certifications:
Maintain Railroad Certifications, Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g. 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC) Understanding ofISO 9001
