Job Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that aerospace products meet stringent internal, regulatory, and customer requirements throughout the product lifecycle. This role bridges product quality assurance and customer quality engagement , driving continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers to ensure high reliability and compliance in a safety-critical environment. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes aligned with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100). Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for internal non-conformances using structured methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone). Support design and manufacturing teams with quality planning tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams. Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics (yield, scrap, rework, defect rates) and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as the primary quality interface for customers, addressing concerns, complaints, and corrective actions. Lead customer-facing investigations and responses, including 8D reports and failure analysis. Ensure timely resolution of customer issues while maintaining clear communication and expectations. Support customer audits and participate in external quality reviews. Track and report customer quality metrics (PPM, escapes, returns, warranty claims). Drive initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and reduce defects in the field. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or related field). 3-7+ years of experience in quality engineering within aerospace, defense, or a highly regulated industry. Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
Experience with quality tools:
8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Root Cause Analysis. Familiarity with aerospace regulatory requirements and documentation practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with customers and cross-functional teams. Experience with inspection methods, GD&T, and engineering drawings. Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, composites, assembly). Ability to analyze data using statistical tools/software. Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
