Full Job Description Summary:
The Quality Engineer maintains an advanced knowledge of customer, industry requirements and communicates that information to ensure that product meets contracted requirements. The QE may be a focal for customer and 3rd party audits, and participates as the quality department focal for internal improvement projects. The QE possesses knowledge of SPC, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma concepts and their application. The QE may analyze customer and internal quality metrics and create presentations for internal and customer use. The QE may represent ONAMAC as a supplier quality focal for approval, monitoring and auditing supplier activity. The QE may perform the job duties and responsibilities of the Quality Administrator as well as following under minimal supervision.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains a working knowledge of customer and industry quality standards (ISO9001, AS9100, and AS9102).
- Support for Quality inspection in interpretation of customer requirements, including customer contracts, specifications, drawing, models, and parts lists.
- Review and approve of planning documents for use within manufacturing..
- Prepares First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102 and customer contractual requirements.
- Performs internal audits.
- Customer source inspection focal.
- Performs data analysis in support of internal and supplier quality metrics.
- Create and monitor SPC and internal reduced inspection programs.
- Issues, monitors, and approves customer, internal and supplier corrective action request.
- Supplier quality focal including review, approval and monitoring, which may include First Article Inspection activity and performing supplier audits.
- Customer and 3rd party quality audit focal.
- Supports internal improvement team activity and drive the Certified Operator Program.
- Create, monitoring and overseeing tool inspection activity
- Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
- Responsible for processing and monitoring the MRB Hold Area.
PPAP & APQP
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills & Experience :
- 5 years Quality Assurance/Inspection experience in a regulated industry, preferred aerospace.
- Ability to read and understand Engineering Drawings and specifications
- Basic understanding of GD&T.
- Proficiency in
MS Word, Excel and Power Point :
- Quality Assurance/Inspection experience in the aerospace industry.
- Documented internal audit experience.
- Hands-on inspection experience of aircraft structural parts
- Engineering degree or Cert Quality Engineer (ASQ)
Physical Requirements:
- Visual inspection/review of product.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Use of multi-line phone.
- Use of computer keyboard and mouse.
- Standing, walking, sitting at various times throughout the work day.
- Lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Correctable vision to 20/25, or per customer requirements
