Job Description

RB Royal, a family-owned and operated manufacturing company based in Fond du Lac, WI, is currently seeking a Quality Engineer II to join our team. As a premium manufacturer of fluid transfer systems, RB Royal specializes in custom-engineered coils, tubing, and hoses designed to move water, air, oil, and fuel. Our solutions support a wide range of industries, including marine, automotive, construction, motorsports, agriculture, food processing, medical, and power generation. SUMMARY The Quality Engineer II is responsible for supporting and improving product and process quality through hands-on manufacturing support, quality planning, problem solving, and continuous improvement. This position independently investigates and resolves routine to moderately complex quality issues and works cross-functionally with Operations and Engineering to improve process capability, prevent defects, and ensure customer and company requirements are met.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Manufacturing & Quality Support Maintain an active presence on the manufacturing floor and independently respond to routine production Quality issues. Investigate product and process nonconformances and recommend appropriate containment and corrective actions. Lead containment activities including identification of affected product, inspection/sorting requirements, product holds, and verification of containment. Provide technical support for inspection and measurement activities including drawings, specifications, tolerances, GD&T, and inspection results. Partner with Operations and Engineering to troubleshoot manufacturing quality issues and implement sustainable solutions. Continuous Improvement Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for routine to moderately complex internal quality issues. Analyze defects, scrap, rework, nonconformances, yields, and process capability to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Develop and implement actions to improve product quality, process consistency, and cost of quality. Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions. Participate in Lean and continuous improvement activities. Quality Planning & New Product Support Develop and maintain Control Plans, FMEAs, inspection plans, inspection sheets, and acceptance criteria. Support and complete assigned APQP and
PPAP/PAP
activities. Participate in new product launches, pilot builds, First Article Inspections, trials, and process changes. Perform or support capability studies, SPC, MSA, and Gage R&R activities. Evaluate manufacturing process changes and identify potential Quality risks. Ensure appropriate gauges, inspection methods, and Quality documentation are established prior to production. Quality Systems & Customer Requirements Support compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable customer-specific requirements. Conduct assigned internal process and Quality audits. Support customer complaint investigations and corrective actions. Support supplier Quality investigations and corrective actions as assigned. Support gauge management, calibration, and measurement system requirements. Maintain accurate Quality documentation and controlled records. Support customer and regulatory documentation as assigned. Technical Support & Development Serve as a technical Quality resource for Operations and other departments. Provide technical guidance to Quality Technicians, Inspectors, and production employees as appropriate. Communicate Quality concerns, findings, risks, and recommended actions to the Senior Quality Engineer and Quality Manager. Assist less-experienced Quality personnel with problem solving, inspection requirements, and Quality tools. Follow company safety requirements, policies, procedures, and Core Values. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
SKILLS CRITICAL FOR SUCCESS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field with 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience OR Associate degree with 7+ years of relevant manufacturing quality experience. Hands-on manufacturing Quality experience including inspection, measurement, troubleshooting, and resolution of production quality issues. Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP/PAP, FMEA, Control Plans, 8D, root cause analysis, SPC, MSA/Gage R&R, and capability studies. Experience with ISO 9001 and/or applicable customer-specific Quality requirements. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T. Demonstrated ability to independently investigate routine to moderately complex Quality issues and drive corrective actions through completion. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments. Ability to manage multiple Quality priorities and follow issues through completion. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP/MES systems, and applicable Quality software; Plex experience preferred. Experience with metalworking processes such as machining, forming, welding, plating, painting, and assembly preferred. Quality certifications or training such as Six Sigma, CQE, Internal Auditor, or APQP preferred.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
