Job Description
Overview Under the general direction of the Quality Leader, this position is accountable for coordinating the design/process compatibility of existing parts and products and working with Supplier Quality Engineers and Product Engineering to, with purchasing, determine the capability of existing and new suppliers. Responsibilities Effective structured problem solving as needed and supports the training/developing of structured problem solving. Using Control Plans and PFMEA to maintain process control and risk mitigation Understands/Uses process and machine capability studies necessary to identify opportunities in current and future process requirements. Responsible for tracking resolutions of supplier quality/productivity problems. Procurement of inspection/test equipment required in the production areas assigned. Supervises quality process control and audit personnel assigned. Maintains quality documentation at test and audit to engineering specifications. Support the effort of new design introduction within processes to meet engineering specifications. Manages effective execution of action items, "who's going to do what" by "when", on KPI boards to ensure goals are met. Drives an "Everyone Owns Quality" mentality by engaging and empowering employees in problem-solving at the source
Qualifications Education:
AS degree in Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing discipline required BS degree in Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing discipline desired
Knowledge & Experience:
2-4 years of experience in quality assurance and/or control preferred. Experience with Quality Tools such as: Capability studies, Process Mapping, FMEA, Control Charts, and higher-level Six Sigma methodology Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in a project team environment is beneficial.
