Job Description Located in the scenic foothills of the San Gabriel Valley, Foothill Municipal Water District offers an exceptional opportunity to work in a dynamic and highly desirable region of Southern California. The District is conveniently located just minutes from downtown Los Angeles, neighboring Pasadena and Glendale, and providing easy access to the energy, and amenities of one of the nation's largest metropolitan areas while maintaining the unique character and quality of life of the San Gabriel Valley foothill communities. The area offers an outstanding setting in which to live, work, and lead. Foothill Municipal Water District (FMWD) is a regional wholesale water agency providing essential water supplies and services to eight member agencies: Crescenta Valley Water District, Kinneloa Irrigation District, La Canada Irrigation District, Las Flores Water Company, Lincoln Avenue Water Company, Liberty Utilities, Rubio Canon Land & Water Association, and Valley Water Company. FMWD's purpose is to support the reliable delivery of water to its member agencies and the communities it serves. The District Engineer is a senior-level manager and at-will employee who serves under the direction of the General Manager. As the second-in-command, the District Engineer will be a key member of the FMWD leadership team, with a strategic seat at the table and significant influence over engineering, operations, capital planning, and organizational priorities. Foothill Municipal Water District is seeking an accomplished and collaborative water industry professional who combines strong engineering expertise with project management, organizational leadership, and strategic thinking. The approved salary range for the District Engineer is $16,104 - $21,821 per month , equivalent to approximately $193,248 - $261,852 annually . The District utilizes a 13-step compensation schedule, with placement within the range based on qualifications and experience.
