Job Description

at State of Delaware in Dover, Delaware, United States Job Description The primary responsibility of this position is to review, develop, and manage Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) analyses for the Watershed Assessment Branch. This position will serve as a subject expert on TMDL/hydrodynamic modeling and will assist the Watershed Assessment and Management Section in developing novel approaches to managing existing and future pollutant loads. The position will also assist in the review of permits, Watershed Implementation Plans, Pollution Control Strategies, Advance Restoration Plans, and other similar documents to ensure the developed goals and implementation options are realistic and achievable. JOB REQUIREMENTS
for Engineer III Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: 1. Possession of a Bachelors Degree or higher in Environmental Engineering OR official notice of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination (in the assigned engineering discipline) administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). 2. At least four years experience in Environmental Engineering . 3. Knowledge of engineering project management which includes planning, scheduling, staffing, coordinating, controlling, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the status of engineering projects. Applicants who do not possess the preferred qualification will still be eligible to compete for this position if job requirements are met. 1. Experience in using one or more of the following watershed and hydrologic modeling systems: SWAT, HSPF/BASINS, HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS, and/or
WASP/QUAL2K/EFDC. 2.
Experience in using one or more of the following statistical and geospatial analysis software:
R, SAS, MS
Excel (advanced), and/or
ESRI GIS.
