Job Description
About the Role A growing Florida‑based civil and environmental engineering firm is looking for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our Sarasota / Lakewood Ranch / Tampa operations. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with firm leadership, gain mentorship, and advance into Technical Lead, Project Manager, or Client Services Manager roles. The firm focuses on innovative water solutions - from pilot studies and asset management to design‑build and smart utility consulting. Our backlog includes cutting‑edge projects in OneWater, AI‑assisted delivery, sustainable water/wastewater/reclaimed water designs, and LID practices. What You'll Do Prepare or oversee engineering calculations, AutoCAD Civil 3D designs, assessments, master plans, models, construction drawings, specifications, permit applications, and reports. Serve as Project Manager or Technical Lead depending on project complexity. Lead pilot studies, GIS/CADD/modeling efforts, CEI services, and stakeholder outreach. Support business development, proposals, presentations, schedules, budgets, and cost evaluations. Research new technologies, regulations, and best practices. Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, vendors, and internal teams. Occasional travel within Southwest to West Central Florida for site visits and client meetings. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. At least 6 years of engineering experience. Florida PE license or ability to obtain within 4 months. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Strong communication and project management skills. Ability to supervise engineers and CADD designers. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, or database management. Master's degree in water/wastewater, water resources, or site development.
