About This Job:

This job is responsible for designing, supervising and /or directing the preparation of construction plans and proposals for projects. Reviews plans and studies prepared by engineering consultants and DOTD Headquarters sections. Serves as a Design Engineer for roadways, levees and structures within the DOTD District 02 Design, Water Resources/Public Works. Eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.

NOTE:

This is a temporary position to be utilized while the incumbent is securing a Louisiana Engineer Intern certificate. Permanent status shall be denied to incumbents occupying this position.

NOTE:

Job Duties:

This position serves as a Design Engineer for roadways, levees and structures within the DOTD District 02 Design, Water Resources/Public Works/Emergency Support Functions (ESF1) Section.

• Direct and advise survey personnel regarding the gathering and recording of specialized field data required for drainage and hydraulic projects. This requires knowledge of land surveying techniques and procedures.
• Plans and reviews, designs and prepares details for roadway ,levee and structural construction projects.

• $24.04/hourly
• Eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate. Engineer Intern 1
• Special Entrance Rate (SER) $26.44/hourly. Possession of a current Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate. Engineer Intern 2
• Special Entrance Rate (SER) $28.29/ hourly. Possession of a current Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate plus one year of professional engineering experience. Engineer 3
• Special Entrance Rate (SER) $33.39/hourly. Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering. Engineer 4
• Special Entrance Rate (SER) $36.90/hourly. Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering plus One year of licensed engineering experience OR Five years of professional engineering experience. Engineer 5
• Special Entrance Rate (SER) $39.

48/hourly. Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering plus Two years of licensed engineering experience OR Six years of professional engineering experience.
