Job Description

Accentuate Staffing is working with a specialized North Carolina engineering consultancy to hire a Civil Engineer focused on water resources and environmental projects. This visible role will help guide technically complex assignments, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of an experienced multidisciplinary team. For a candidate with the right background, the position may also offer a longer-term path toward firm ownership. The ideal candidate is a North Carolina-licensed Professional Engineer who can combine hands-on technical judgment with full project leadership. The work may include groundwater and remediation programs, production-well and pumping-system design, raw-water conveyance, treatment and distribution planning, construction observation, and clear technical reporting for clients and regulators. Responsibilities Lead water-resource and environmental consulting projects from proposal development through design, field execution, reporting, and closeout. Develop solutions for well sites, pumping systems, raw-water conveyance, water treatment/distribution, and related system planning needs. Direct soil and groundwater investigations and support the design, implementation, and operation of environmental remediation systems. Manage project scope, staffing, delegation, schedules, budgets, quality standards, and technical deliverables across concurrent assignments. Build trusted client relationships, translate project needs into practical work plans, and communicate clearly with regulators, contractors, and internal teams. Visit project sites as needed to observe construction and contractor activities while maintaining strong safety and documentation practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline; a related science degree paired with an advanced Civil or Environmental Engineering degree may also qualify. Active North Carolina Professional Engineer license, or an active PE license eligible for North Carolina reciprocity within two months of hire. Demonstrated experience managing engineering or environmental projects, including proposals, work delegation, schedules, cost, quality, and client relationships. Relevant technical experience in groundwater, remediation, water resources, production wells, pumping systems, water conveyance, treatment, distribution, or closely related infrastructure. Strong technical writing, editing, organization, attention to detail, and client-facing verbal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Ability to work on-site in Apex or Greenville, travel to jobsites approximately 15% of the time, and work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship. #accentuate2
