Newark, NJ Compensation:
$110-140k/year Pennoni is seeking a highly motivated Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our Newark, New Jersey office. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful water and wastewater infrastructure projects while advancing your career within a supportive, team-oriented environment. Primary Responsibilities Prepare engineering designs, technical specifications, and construction documents for water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and treatment facilities Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling to evaluate and optimize system performance and capacity Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including coordination of environmental permitting requirements Support municipalities and utility clients with NJDEP compliance initiatives related to drinking water and wastewater regulations, reporting, and infrastructure planning Provide engineering services during construction, including shop drawing review, responses to RFIs, and site visits Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-quality technical solutions Prepare proposals/scopes of work and associated design fee estimates in support of targeting work. Identifying potential clients and assisting in pursuit of opportunities as required Serve as a client point of contact, fostering strong relationships and ensuring exceptional service delivery Basic Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in water/wastewater engineering, including design and project coordination Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling software such as EPANET, WaterCAD, and SewerGEMS Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report preparation Why Pennoni?
