Work Setting:

In-person (All in office/field) Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Water/Wastewater project engineer for our Rochester office. As part of our design and process teams, you will work on water and wastewater projects, including drinking water/wastewater/reuse treatment facility upgrades, conveyance systems, wellfields, stormwater management, water resources, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities:

Participation in the evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, stormwater, reuse, and infrastructure projects Supporting proposal development. Mentor junior staff. Coordination and collaboration with clients. Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery. Supporting projects to meet client expectations, budgets, and quality requirements. Following internal Hazen processes to ensure quality delivery of engineering projects for clients. Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on small to medium projects.

Performing planning, studies, design, and support of projects through design, construction, and operation.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering PE license 5-12 years of experience in planning, design, or construction of water-related projects Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail Experience related to preparing conceptual/feasibility studies, development of construction drawings and specifications, bidding assistance, and support of office and field-related construction services Familiarity with engineering and construction management software Capable of supervising staff and managing small projects

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineeringProficiency in GIS, Bluebeam, CAD/BIM, BioWin, PowerBI, and databases
