About the
Role:
The Product Engineer IV Mechanical Wastewater plays a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of mechanical products specifically tailored for wastewater treatment applications. This position focuses on delivering innovative, reliable, and efficient mechanical solutions that meet stringent industry standards and customer requirements. The engineer will lead complex projects from concept through production, ensuring product performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain is essential to drive continuous improvement and resolve technical challenges. Ultimately, this role contributes to advancing sustainable wastewater management technologies that protect public health and the environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical product design and development, preferably within the wastewater or environmental engineering sector. Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo for mechanical design and modeling. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including materials science, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics. Experience with product testing, validation methods, and failure analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Experience with wastewater treatment processes and related mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, and mixers. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to wastewater treatment products (e.g., ANSI, ASME, NSF). Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools. Project management certification or experience leading cross-functional engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
Lead the mechanical design and development of wastewater treatment products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress, fatigue, and fluid dynamics assessments to validate product performance and durability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, develop prototypes, and oversee testing and validation activities. Identify and implement design improvements to enhance product reliability, reduce manufacturing costs, and improve ease of assembly. Support manufacturing and quality teams by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting production issues, and driving corrective actions. Manage project timelines, documentation, and communication to ensure successful product launches and lifecycle management. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into product designs.
